This week's guest is the head of Matagot, Arnaud Charpentier. We talk about the influence of his great grandmother in his gaming, doing an RPG radio show and his optimism for the gaming industry... but which games did he choose?
Ambie and Crystal discuss a couple games they played recently, including Spirits of the Wild: Awakening and Numberwang. Then, in honor of Crystal's upcoming wedding, we talk about board games that are about love, and we play some questions of The Couples Game!
BGBBOB is back, and it's been long enough that you might need a reminder. Ten game designers enter the ring, and through the arduous process of one vs one battles, we arrive at our (and not just our, but the) definitive ranked list of ... these particular designers. It's science. Before we fight it out, we talk about Iliad, The Old King's Crown, and Franchise.
03:29 - Iliad 13:56 - The Old King's Crown 34:01 - Franchise 42:04 - BGBBOB: Game designers

Greetings and salutations, noble travelers! Gather ye close and lend thine ears. Lord Bender doth regale us with tales of his grand Spelljammer campaign and the valorous exploits of his gallant Giff sailor. Thereafter, we entertain inquiries from our loyal listeners pondering such matters as what Dungeon Masters desire most from their adventurers, whether our hearts favor the grand houses of mass-market tomes or the humble artistry of indie works, and how much tomfoolery may be endured before patience wears thin. Enjoy the merriment of the hour!
Nick is in the chair this week as he has spouts haikus, ponders tag-lines and has the gang reinvent some games.
This Game is Broken is a comedy board game panel show with Matthew Jude, Dave Luza, Paula Deming, Nick Murphy and Mike Murphy. We play a lot of nonsense games full of role playing and trivia as well as other fun stuff which can be found at the links below.

In our effort to answer all of your Omnibus Questions, sadly we cannot enlist the assistance of notable Canadian Keanu Reeves. In an interview with Stephen Colbert--as a joke after Keanu said something profound--he was asked, "What do you think happens when we die, Keanu Reeves?" After a pause, and the audience's laughter, Keanu said, "I know that that the ones who love us will miss us."
I SAY DAYUM, KEANU

Excuse the occasional odd buzzing on this one - we tried to scrub it as much as possible but there's only so much you can do to heal a dodgy microphone before you start making Matt sound like a blender.

Just for reference, the population of Klaipėda, the third largest city in Lithuania is approximately 161 000 people. The number of attendees in this year's Spiel Essen was 220 000 people, meaning they managed to cram the entirey of Klaipėda and much more into just eight convention halls and every one of those people were buying board games.
I appreciate that that is maybe not everybody's jam, and aspects of it are not our jam either. But getting our mitts into a jar of Bonne Maman filled with gooey new board game releases - put a bib on me and fire up the toaster!
In this special joint episode of No Pun Included and Talk Cardboard we cover 16 new releases from Spiel Essen 2025, which you can either listen to here or partake in the video version https://youtu.be/NHVLn-ZxVWs
On this FULL CAPS CHUNKY episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down Podcast, Tom and Matt are talking about all of the games they played at Essen 2025!
This is an audio-only reupload of the video we just put out on the main channel - so if you’d like to enjoy a physical tier list alongside these wobbly words? Then that’s where it is, and will be, forever and ever.
