00:36:00 Question 3 – Monsters

00:41:30 Restoration – Battle Monsters

01:01:00 Question 4 – Conquerors

01:08:15 Outro

Join us as we chat with Rob and Justin from Restoration Games to dive into the exciting world of reviving classic board games. But that’s not all—there’s a twist! We challenge them to a lively game of Rank’em, where we present three items, and they rank them in any order they choose. The fun doesn’t stop there—together, we’ll debate, defend, and dissect whether their rankings hit the mark or missed the mark entirely.

We also get to hear all about their new game coming to Kickstarter called Battle Monsters. This is a reimplement of Battle Masters from 1992. Battle Masters was originally themed as an army of Good battling again an army of evil. The game had a huge footprint and miniatures and we hear how Restoration is bringing it back.

#356: Endgame Scoring

Tiebreakers are arguably a kind of endgame scoring. I respect the fact that they are invariably necessary (I mean, if for no other reason than if they're omitted some smartass like me will complain). That said, clearly if the scoreboard goes to 200+ I don't imagine we'll be hauling out the second tiebreaker condition all that much. Frequently the endgame conversion of resources to points already serves as a tiebreaker anyway.

Episode 333: The Gang, Altered TCG

In this episode, Banana, Adrian and Conor are in the mood to reminisce about a HUGE gaming weekend for Adrian’s 40th birthday. Adrian has fallen for The Gang, and by that he means not just the people at his birthday bash, but the game as well.  Meanwhile Conor has been battling head-to-head and having fun with one of his favourite TCG’s without breaking the bank, in Altered.  Banana surprisingly enjoyed a game that prides itself on getting pleasure from other people’s misery in Shadenfreude, and also got to have an unexpected try of a Kickstarter prototype!

Lords of the Dungeon 85: Character vs Player Motivation

Hark, and well met, weary travelers! Come, rest thyselves and lend thine ears to the grand tales woven by the Lords of the Dungeon. Lady Jess shall regale thee with the chronicles of thy city upon the bridge, a place of wonder and enigma. Thereafter, the council doth gather to speak on the matter of adventures - those drawn from dusty tomes of old, and those forged anew by the hands of mortal minds. At journey’s end, they delve deep into spirited discourse, weighing the desires of the player 'gainst the will of the character. Sit ye back, and partake in this feast of wisdom and mirth!

#355: Rise & Fall

When is a thing like another thing? Is Albedo like Core Worlds? Is Cat Blues like Rummy? Is Through the Desert like Go? Is a nudge as good as a wink to blind bat? Are all Roll & Writes inferior to Roll a 6, Win a Cookie? Is Christophe Boelinger France's Vlaada Chvátil? Probably, because it's all just like Mage Knight in the end.

We are back again for another riveting episode of RDTN. But there is a surprise in this episode, there is somewhat a theme with the games we played. We are going to be talking about dice driven euros, meaning a euro with dice. Okay, that could have gone without saying. Not all games we talk about are euro dice, so don’t miss those discussions as well.

When you get a chance after listening to the episode, we would appreciate taking the time over at Boardgamegeek and giving us a vote for best podcast. Thank you in advance.
