Steve & Kim finished the full campaign for Assassin's Creed. They sit down and review the game both with a brief spoiler free section to begin and ending with a deeper spoiler discussion at the end. There are clear audio cues before spoiler territory halfway through the audio.

In this latest vlog from my YouTube channel, Shelf Stories, I put forward what I think is the common ground for most gamers here in the hobby. To a certain extent, no matter our race, class, or demographic, so many us are freaks and geeks, not considered "normal" (whatever that means) in the larger society. We use the opportunity of gaming as a space where we can be our authentic, geeky selves in safety and peace. We certainly have our divides and disagreements. Heated discussions around diversity and inclusion will continue. But I think good conversations can happen when we all start from this common understanding.
As will be noted multiple times throughout the episode, this is a very unique show. Derek Liam is the former lead designer for Broken Token inserts and organizers. He joins Jason's Industry Nuts and Bolts series to share personal stories about five years working for Broken Token. These were fulfilling years for Derek, but also difficult ones, mainly due to the management style of the former regime at Broken Token. This is a labor story that, unfortunately, is not unique in our industry. As always, all episodes of this nature are shared in a spirit of education and compassion, honoring stories and finding ways to move forward.

This is Episode Zero of a new video series Shelf Stories. Jason will review specific games though the lens of cultural critique, specifically what I call CASE - Cultural Appropriation, Stereotyping, and Erasure. In this show, Jason explains what he means by each of these contentious concepts. As always, the intention is toward being constructive and to initiate open, respectful dialogue.
