Join Adrian, Sarah, and Conor as they share some of their recent experiences of playtesting some upcoming games including Anunnaki, Skate Summer, and Scrap.

In our Sizzling Games tonight Conor revisits a favourite of the podcast Empires of the North. Sarah has been enjoying Terra Mystica on Board Game Arena recently and recalls how it was one of the first heavy games she ever played, and the team discuss the similarities with Gaia Project. Not to be outdone, Adrian has been playing the new hotness in Ark Nova, managing his own unique zoo.

We launch the next match-up in the Bracket Battle 2.0: Barrage vs Maracaibo. It's Adrian vs Conor and they plead their case as to why their game is better. To make sure your favourite goes through to the next round make sure you vote on our socials.

Finally in Swear an Oath Adrian's vow to teach Aeon's End to Conor remains, but he did get to play his Secret Santa game: Cryo. Conor is still staring at his unpainted Warhammer minis, and also hasn't played The Mad Titan just yet. Sarah fulfilled her oath to play Chronicles of Crime but unfortunately the first case left her lukewarm. Solo Gamers Unite!

On this episode of the Board Game BBQ Podcast Dan, Mitch and Mike dive into the world of solo games. Mitch is a veteran of solo game, Mike is new to the solo experience, and Dan is somewhere in the middle. The crew discuss their solo experiences, why they enjoy solo games, and share some of their favourites.

In the Sizzling Games segment, Mike has been testing his dexterity with Men At Work, Mitch has been expanding his Undaunted games with the Reinforcements expansion, and Dan has been sneaking around around France in Maquis.

Finally in Swear an Oath, Dan has almost cleared the decks of unfulfilled oaths with just Journeys of Middle Earth remaining. We are back for 2022! (was there ever any doubt?)

Join Adrian, Sarah, Def and Jules as they discuss giving games a second chance. What factors can sour a first play, what you should consider when you first learn a game, and the team list some games they have granted a second chance.

In the Sizzling Games segment, Jules has been the playing the new Roll and Write from friend of the show Matthew Dunstan (and Rory Muldoon): Voyages. Sarah has been enjoying the Martin Wallace city building game Anno 1800. Def is still living out his train fantasies with Mini Express. Finally Adrian has found his new favourite trick-taking game: Nyet!

We dive back into the Bracket Battle and recap the last match up: Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion vs Raiders of the North Sea.

Finally in Swear an Oath Def fulfilled his oaths of Clans of Caledonia and also Hellenica: Story of Greece. Adrian overcame Mitch's sleep-inducing tutorial and played Merchants of the Dark Road, and also played Santa's Workshop, but fell short of teaching Conor Aeon's End. Sarah hasn't played Chronicles of Crime yet, but did play Forge War. Jules played half a game of Mysthea (so it doesn't count!) but is prepared to play it at this weekend's Melbourne Board Game Day. In the spirit of second chances, Adrian swears an oath to revisit Dwellings of Eldervale, Def swears to give Imperium: Classics a second chance, Sarah swears to play Great Western Trail, and Jules will finally finish painting his Unsettled minis.
