On this uphill episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down Podcast, Tom is rambling to Matt about a couple bits and bobs he’s played recently! First up is Flamme Rouge’s ‘Grand Tour’ expansion, that turns a simple session of Flamme Rouge into a month long tour! Is it as good as it was when Matt played it just seven short years ago? Find out here!
That’s then followed by a little recommendation for a recent Oink title - Moving Wild - before capping the podcast off with a bit of retrospective chat regarding SETI: Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence after our recent(ish) middling review…
Thanks for listening everyone! Have a great weekend!

On board the Dice Tower Cruise 2025, Tom, Julie, and Eric run through their holiday gaming opportunities. Julie asks how we prefer to to vacation, and we end the show with a bunch of Roses, Thorns, and Hula Hoops that we encountered on the ship.
The editorial department of So Very Wrong About Games has several sub-divisions, and admittedly the orgchart gets a bit baroque at this point. The rules errors office is technically a sub-branch of the fact checking desk, but it is funded out of the game design sub-budget. This muddies the line of accountability, and as anyone who works with gibbons can tell you, this is not ideal.

We understand that with the new embedded ads, the time stamps are a bit off. Unfortunately, we can’t guess how long some of the ads are, so we are going to give you approximate times on when things are happening on the show. We will continue to look for solutions and appreciate you hanging in there with us.
We got in some family game time over the holidays and we share our experiences. I got in some heavier games with Risk AD 2210 and Catan, New Energies, while Marty enjoyed leisure time with the family. Very happy with Risk because I went into the game with concerns. Thought for sure that this game would be just another version of Risk with little added pieces here and there. But it wasn’t. Yes, it did come down to dice rolls, but that is Risk you take in this game.
Unfortunately, many of the games we discussed are out of stock at Miniature Market. This is where their notification system on restock works really well, so be sure to take advantage on something you may want.
Cons are starting up and the next time we are back, we will be discussing Dice and Diversion down in Atlanta, GA. Man, just hope it is going to be warmer this year.
Join Jules and Lauren as they bring in the new year with what has been hitting their tables over the holidays. Jules' gaming appetite has him trying out the combo meal which is fit for a king in Castle Combo. Lauren has been wracking her brain to remember where she put Gandalf's staff and if it was next to that bowl of jelly in Wilmot's Warehouse.
They also share the community responses from out last Question of the Pod, and get excited about the new year in this week's question, and share what has them fired up!

Hark, noble Cabalists! Gather 'round and lend thine ears, for in this eve's tale of Lords of the Dungeon, our merry fellowship doth wrestle with a query from a distant traveler. How, pray tell, does one steer their quest true when a minor misstep doth send the campaign tumbling into ruin most dire? But lo, that is but the prologue! For anon, the Lords delve into the heart of the matter--a grand discourse on how brave adventurers may rise to meet the zeal and preparation of their most esteemed game master. So, sit ye back, grasp thy tankard, and let the tale unfold.
