336 | Helping European And American Gamers Understand One Another | with Jason and Bruno Faidutti

Famed game designer Bruno Faidutti joins the show for a civil discussion about our different perspectives as gamers and game creators. We discuss the differences between American and European tastes and sensibilities, how things have changes over the years, and how different gamers get different messages when they engage with a game on the table. This was a wide ranging and interesting conversation between two people who don't see the world in quite the same way, but who were able to find some common ground. I hope this serves as a model for similar types of conversations in our hobby moving forward. #223: Stroganov

Von: Pickaxe
26. Juli 2022 um 12:00
Much talk of animals this week, what with wombats and mass animal harvesting in Stroganov. Mark's experience was that despite covering many hot-button issues in his medical ethics classes, the one that invariably produced the most voluble emotional responses was that of medical testing on animals. Pit Bull owners, in particular; despite there being no medical testing of the type discussed on Pit Bulls. Go figure.

#235: The Twin Game Showdown

21. Juli 2022 um 09:50

There's a phenomenon called twin films, where competing studios release very similar movies at the same time. We imagine the same idea in board game land, and highlight some of the biggest board game grudge matches - and judge which game we think came out on top. Before there can be only one, we talk about Viking See-Saw, Dandelions, Codex Naturalis, and Luna.
