A tragedy of consuming media or goods is that sometimes, regardless of how diligent you are, you cannot keep up with new releases. The creators you love might keep putting out new products, and even a casual enthusiast of a given medium might be disappointed to learn that they missed out on an offering. What I'm trying to get at is that HOW DARE they make a new Macross tabletop game and NOT TELL MARK.

In this special episode Sarah and Adrian welcome back to the show, and the team - Def!! It's exciting to have him back after a brief hiatus and we certainly missed him. Def doesn't waste any time getting back into the swing of the tabletop talk as the crew discuss Fantasy Realms, the potential of the video game Elden Ring becoming a board game, Stonemaier's announcement of Viticulture World, and how much we love keeping stats. Don't forget our Sizzling Games: Adrian loved exploring the historical roots of Prague, Def has well and truly fallen down the COIN rabbit-hole, and Sarah has been increasing the difficulty of one of her favourite games.
In the Board Game Bracket we settle the last match-up, Eclipse: 2nd Ed vs Marvel Champions, before we cue up the next battle: On Mars v Gaia Project. To make sure your favourite goes through to the next round make sure you vote on our socials.
Finally, in Swear An Oath, Adrian got his Jaws of the Lion Party back together, Sarah played Railroad Ink with the "Pluckman" Dice, and Def - well, no one can remember what his last oath was. New oaths include 1862 (Adrian), The Smoky Valley (Sarah), and Perseverance (Def).
Sizzling Games: Praga Caput Regni (25:30), All Bridges Burning (39:39), Aeon's End: The Outer Dark (1:00:35)

In this semi-cooperative episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down podcast, Tom and Matt are talking about two very unusual games! First up is Voices In My Head's handsome-man-sentencing, followed by a small course of Decorum; a passive-aggressive living simulator. We also chat a few nice words about SHUX (and the carpets within) as well as Matt’s review of the Quacks expansion.
It doesn't quite work the same, but what do you expect when Neilan's not present? Speaking of presents, it's Mark's birthday so the rest of the crew celebrate with a parade of (don't call them hot) questions, where they invent expansions, and save the planet. Before we get older, we talk about Time Barons, and The Key: Sabotage at Lucky Llama Land.

Matt Bivens discusses how to teach game design. Matt has been teaching design to high school kids for years, and we get into the usefulness of game design concepts, feedback, and more.
Jess Metheringham, founder of Dissent Games, talks about designing games that are housed completely on greeting cards. We talk about the value of constraints, holiday themes, and more.
Yes, we are but slaves to the new releases, which is why we are reviewing a fifteen-year-old game. "But that's impossible!" you reply, "No one was alive back then!" Records are scant, but there is a rich oral tradition that people have been playing games at least since the release of Nirvana's Nevermind. Archeologists are still trying to carbon-date that period exactly, though.

Brian Boru united Ireland and ended centuries of Viking dominance. Round by round and town by town, play cards to secure the crown through might, cunning, and matrimony in this trick-taking board game.
Steve & Kim finished the full campaign for Assassin's Creed. They sit down and review the game both with a brief spoiler free section to begin and ending with a deeper spoiler discussion at the end. There are clear audio cues before spoiler territory halfway through the audio.

In this electric episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down podcast Tom and Quinns are going toe-to-toe in a battle for the ages, fighting the corner of the game that they like, and the other person… likes too… but less…
On this podcast we’re chatting about our lengthy first impressions of Crescent Moon and our much snappier first impressions of Bear Raid, as well as literally about 20 seconds of talking about the Mind MGMT app - so little, in fact, that I haven’t even timestamped it!
