The African Board Gaming Convention is a pan-African event that brings many people together from all over Africa and beyond to play games, celebrate games, and spread the word about a growing, local gaming scene. Oluwafemi Olusanya (or Femi) joins the show to share his boundless enthusiasm for sharing games and spreading the word about this fifth installment of AB Con. At the time of recording, they were working on a stretch goal to get Eric Lang to make an appearance and help out local designers. If we are truly into the work of diversity and inclusion in our games, this is it! Femi's doing the work, so I am happy to support and lift his voice for everyone listening and watching.

In this wobbly 150th episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down podcast, a freshly-jabbed Tom and perfectly off-kilter Matt are ready to tell YOU about SOME GAMES!

Stay tuned for some opinions, and some hot, hot games!

NB: "Language independent" can be a loaded term, and we confess we used it a tad sloppily in our discussion of Tribune. Latin is used throughout the game, and ain't nobody speaks Latin as their first language anymore, but nonetheless in hindsight we could have been more sensitive to those more familiar with non-Latin alphabets. Thus, we should say that the original Primus Inter Pares expansion and the new Spielworxx Tribune are language-independent but not alphabet-independent. I dare any game with an appropriate time period as a theme try to get away with cuneiform.
