230: A Critique Of Content Creation With The Space-Biff

The Space-Biff, Dan Thurot, stops by the show to chat about... what in the world are we doing! We discuss the concept of "content creation", both in terms of its largely negative roots and how it has been appropriated and used by today's board game media creators. We also discuss related topics like meaningfulness, burnout, discovery, and others that have relevance for the human beings that make the board gaming media we all enjoy. Episode 118 - Vinhos, Hanamikoji, Ankh: Gods of Egypt

On this episode Steve, Jules and Mitch discuss their Top 5 Games that are outside the BGG Top 1000. What unsung heroes do you have in your collection that you think should be ranked higher in the pantheon of games? Do you have any cross-over with the BGBBQ Team?

In Sizzling Games, Mitch introduced his family to the wonderful Vinhos from Vital Lacerda. Steve discovered the wonders of the small-box game, Hanamikoji. Lastly, Jules has been gushing over his back-breaking delivery of Ankh this week and so he finally gets to tell us all about it!

In the Bracket Battle 2.0 we review last week's battle, Marvel Champions vs Pipeline, before we set-up this week's battle: Too Many Bones vs Dwellings of Eldervale.

Finally in Swear An Oath, Steve played some more Hadrian's Wall and Fleet: The Dice Game, Jules found his happy place with Ankh, Mitch is looking forward to his first Family Game Night this week. New Oaths are Circadians: First Light (Steve), Living Planet (Jules), and to win a mission of D-Day Dice (Mitch).

#146 - Thanks, But No Thanks

02. Juli 2021 um 18:23

In this mischievously 146th episode of the Shut Up & Sit Down podcast, Quinns, Ava, and Tom are going back to Oxford one last time for a night of card games, libraries, gardens and gratitude.

We’re looking at Atheneum, Ohanami, Similo and No Thanks! Four games with a lot of cards and not a lot in common! It’s almost entirely games we’re a bit ambivalent about! Is that exciting? I do hope so.

Please remember to tip your server.
