It’s just me on the show, and I’m talking about my latest book project called Board Game Kickstarter Advice.
I go through some of my favorite excerpts from the 50 interviews I did for the book and discuss why it’s such good advice if you want to fund a game on Kickstarter.

DISCLAIMER: The thumbnail for this podcast contains more business than is actually contained in this podcast. Instead, on this short, sleepy episode, a tired old Matt and a sickly young Tom have a meandering chat about just four games.
‘That’s not enough games for my Friday night podcast-listening session!’ I hear you cry, panicked and approaching a point of crisis. Fear not, listener, as this winding little journey will take you through the staggering quite goods of Stockpile, the crushing it's fines of Big City and Orleans Stories, before a twist ending where they were all Nemesis all along. Not only that, but there are tiny little trails along the way - a tease of City of the Big Shoulders, for sir? Maybe a trickle of Little Town? It’s all here and it’s all in audio form in this very 105th Shut Up and Sit Down Podcast.
Area control is the first subject of our new recurring feature, "What we love, what we hate", where we deep dive into a single mechanic and describe ... well, exactly that! We tend to enjoy games that have you fighting over territory, but what is it that specifically gets us excited about them? And what are the downsides? Before we assume direct control, we talk about The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine, Stay Cool, and Mezo.
Charlie Cleveland, professional video game designer and founder of Unknown Worlds Entertainment, discusses the crossover of video games and board games and what board game designers can learn from their digital counterparts.
And be sure to check out Charlie’s game, Vampire Vendetta, on Kickstarter HERE.
In this show, we review Remember our Trip, Adventure Games: the Dungeon, Funkoverse, Toy Story, Ratville, and Wonder Woman. We also look back at Dice Tower West, answer questions about board game themes and card shuffling, and Geoff comes to visit! Finally, we talk about favorite games that start with the letter "M".
In episode 37, the lords begin by discussing a recent encounter from their own game involving a puzzle that was a bit too hard for them to figure out and how they feel about puzzles as encounters. Then the gang takes a question from a listener regarding how to talk to your dungeon master about a game in which the players aren't having fun. How do you let them down easy? And finally, the Lords jump the main discussion about clerics and other religious characters and the ins and outs of playing a person who believes and service the greater gods.
