Shelley and I go through our Top 10 lighter and Top 10 heavier games, hear what many listeners posted as their favorites, resolve our Episode 500 Contest, and listen to a few GREAT audio recordings from listeners!
I will put up Geeklists for our Top Games, but our #1 for each of the lists were the same:
Light Games: Between Two Cities from Stonemaier Games
Heavier Games: Bretagne from Placentia Games
In this show, we discuss Epic PVP, Siege of Faerun, Grand Austria Hotel, Apollo XIII, Zombicide: Black Plague, Colosseum, Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, and Ultimate Warriorz. We answer questions about pirating and making your own copies of games, and finish the show taking a look back ten years ago - at 2006's best games.
Shelley and I try two games that involve light...one that's lighter, the other that's rather heavy.
Bretagne by Marco Pozzi from Placentia Games
and
Lanterns by Christopher Chung from Foxtrot Games
both of which are solid, interesting games that we MAY be discussing next week during our Top 10 Games of 2015 on EPISODE 500!!!!
Shelley and I re-play the games discussed on Episode 1 (Elasund and Mesopotamia), then spend some time discussing an older favorite, Kings Progress.
Matt, Quinns and Paul return for 2016! New games discussed include Billionaire Banshee, Flick 'em Up and Marrying Mr. Darcy. Old games discussed include Tikal andPictomania. Million year-old games discussed include The Fun Stick Game.
Most importantly of all, our jingle roster has grown! Huge thanks to SU&SD fan Alex Cannon for sending in a folksy sting for Folk Game of the Month.
Perhaps we should make a quick round of Billionaire Banshee a regular feature too... ?
Billionaire Banshee, Flick ’em Up!, Marrying Mr. Darcy, Tikal, Pictomania
Shelley and I comment and answer listener queries, then revisit Episode 1 of the podcast.
In this episode, we talk about The King is Dead, Cat Tube Famous, But Wait, There’s More!, Splash!, the Magic Board Game Expansion, Game of Gnomes, Mess Machine, andTelepathy (Magic Minds and Brain Freeze). We have three tales - one of horror, one of treachery, and one of outrage! Brian, Dan, and Mary join us, and the whole group discusses the latest announcement from Asmodee North America.
The start of the new year is upon us, but before it began, a boatload of games were played over the holidays and probably one of the biggest Epic Fails […]

Shelley and I get goofy on the mics and enjoy listening and commenting on what you listeners have to say.
In this episode, we introduce our 2016 DT Kickstarter, and talk about Dojo Kun, Mod X, Spirits of the Rice Paddy, Best Treehouse Ever, and Burgle Brothers. We also answer questions including why we like Caverna better than Agricola, and finally end the show with our favorite games from five years ago - 2011!
Shelley and I get the 2-player-only extravaganza to the table this week, trying out
Hengist by Uwe Rosenberg from Mayfair/Lookout
Trambahn by Helmut Ohley from Mayfair/Lookout
and
7 Wonders Duel by Antoine Bauza and Bruno Cathala from Repos/Asmodee
Shelley and I discuss more games during a snowy winter in 2008.
Familiar designers on tap with Reiner Knizia and Cwali's own Corne van Moorsel, along with one of the last really good Adlung games from Michael Rieneck who has since gone on to design Cuba, Pillars of the Earth, and last year's Grog Island.
